George Aumoithe is a 3rd year Ph.D. student in the history department. He specializes in 20th century U.S. history and the history of public health.

The process of planning and executing a peer observation helped me to think more objectively about how to teach. I began the process trying to figure out how to have students take greater ownership of the classroom by developing their own questions and responding to their classmates. Having a peer observer from outside of my discipline forced me to clearly consider what I wanted to understand about my students and myself. -- George Aumoithe
